Shipping and FAQ
Mimic Betta is a small hobby betta fish breeder in the PNW. All of our fish are bred in home unless specified in the ad. I use the IBC (International Betta Congress) standards to determine my breeding pairs. Each pairing is carefully crossed with the overall health of the animal first and foremost.

All sales are final. Order cancelation will result in a 25% restocking fee.
Mimic Betta is not responsible for packages once they are in USPS custody. We are entirely out of control of carriers actions/delays, etc. All packages are insured via USPS.
How is my fish shipped?
Your fish will be shipped via your chosen shipping service in an insulated, reinforced box with a 72-hour heat pack. Fish are only shipped on Mondays or Tuesdays from the Seattle area. Your fish will be fasted 48 hours prior to shipping. When you complete your purchase we will contact you to inform you when your ship date is estimated.
Are ship dates 100% accurate?
Not always, weather and other circumstances may prolong the waiting period for your fish. We will be in contact with you if there are any changes to your projected ship out date.
What is your DOA policy?
DOA must be reported within an hour of marked delivery by carrier. In the event of DOA, clear photos/video of the deceased fish in the original & unopened bag must be submitted via our "contact" page or our Instagram. In this case, a replacement fish, or refund minus the shipping free will be provided.
Package MUST be accepted for first delivery attempt for DOA policy to be honored. Failed delivery attempts resulting in DOA is not the responsibility of Mimic Betta. Please ensure you can collect your animals in a timely and safe way.
If DOA is submitted within 3 hours of delivery. (after 1 hour but in-between 2-3 hours from marked delivery) You may receive a 50% refund minus shipping fees, or half off the purchase price of a replacement fish.
Any later than 3 hours and we are no longer able to provide a refund or replacement fish.
Please keep a close eye on your tracking numbers and contact your local post office to make arrangements if you need to. Post offices can often hold a package for you to pick up in a temperature controlled environment if you are unable to accept your package at your door.
Shipping expenses are non-refundable. Please keep in mind LIVE ANIMALS must be accepted immediately upon delivery.
If I choose a replacement fish, how long do I have to choose?
48 hours, if you wait any longer a refund will be automatically issued.
Do you ship to AK or HI?
We are close enough to ship to AK within the correct circumstances, but not currently offering shipments to HI.
What if the weather is unfavorable to shipping?
If the weather is deemed poor for shipping, or in the case of natural disaster, your fish will be "boarded" here with no additional cost for up to 2 weeks after original shipping date.
